The RCL Mentoring Program was created to provide a personalized and focused program of leadership development for aspiring and experienced professionals. Training events and coaching are invaluable methods to improve your performance. However, studies show that retention and implementation of new skills is minimal from either of these methods. The ability to transform new concepts and tools into actionable behavior requires a process of continuous engagement, practice and refection. These three steps are the keys in creating and sustaining change. The program was designed to capture and honor the spirit and meaning of the Greek word for education – educare. While education basically means to train of mold; educare means to lead out. Development is the part of the process in which you practice and strengthen your knowledge base and application skills. This phase aligns concept and action. Confidence and acumen are products of practice, reflection and more practice, and more reflection. The goal is not for you to apply leadership tools, but to be a leader. Ultimately, your leadership presence must feel natural. We will explore and apply the concepts and tools of the program within the context of your current leadership challenges.
Deployment is the where the action is. It is the integration of Discovery and Development with the emphasis on stepping into your challenges and deploying your knowledge, acumen and tools to resolve your leadership challenges.

These are the core learning and practice areas of the program. Each hallmark’s relationship to leadership is explored.
